Lobbying
The consequences of the digital revolution have been affecting the rights of music publishers and songwriters for several years now. This problem is increasingly critical and the PMPA considers it imperative to be actively involved in various legal and political issues, including the revision of the Canadian Copyright Act.
As a member of CAMI (Coalition of music right owners on the Internet) and of “L’AGAMM: l’accès gratuit à la musique est un mythe” (free access to music is a myth), the PMPA continues to be actively involved in the establishment of a business model for monetization of exchange of music files in Canada.
